GHG Accounting offers W+ Services in partnership with WOCAN to support real outcomes for women's empowerment and a sustainable future for all.

Historically, structural gender inequality deters women from equal access to education, political representation and economic opportunities. Unequal accessibility impacts women's lives and society, increasing poverty, health and safety risks. These risks are expected to worsen with the impacts of climate change.

Taking action against climate change and gender inequality is crucial for global sustainable development. However, no country in the world has fully achieved gender equality. In many places, women carry an unequal burden to secure vital resources, with increased exposure to climate-related risks.

Women's empowerment is critical to reducing social, economic, and climate vulnerability! GHG Accounting offers W+ Services in partnership with WOCAN to support real outcomes for women's empowerment and a sustainable future for all. Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (WOCAN) is a women-led international membership network established to address gender gaps in agriculture and resource management. WOCAN developed the W+ Standard, the only framework providing a transparent and quantifiable way of measuring women's empowerment to drive real action and outcomes against gender inequality.

The framework, developed by gender specialists, provides metrics and requirements for creating W+ credits. A W+ credit is a market-based instrument that rewards projects that invest in and obtain tangible outcomes of women's empowerment. One W+ credit represents a 10% improvement in women's lives in the project community. To create a W+ credit, project developers must ensure compliance with the W+ Standard, which recognizes only real outcomes.

GHG Accounting can support your project to create real outcomes recognized as W+ Credits.
